The funding has been provided to Vita Group to construct a 260-bed scheme in the city centre.
This site was previously a furniture warehouse, which will be demolished so construction can begin. Completion is being targeted in time for lettings to begin in the 2026 academic year.
The site will include a gym, bookable private dining, landscaped garden, study rooms and basketball court.
This is Vita’s third PBSA in Newcastle, and also the third that it has partnered with Puma on - the lender has previously funded PBSAs for the developer in Belfast and Edinburgh.
